Eleonora is the new Nathanael
Greene Herreshoff schooner, modeled on his very successful design of 1909, the
schooner Westward. She was launched on the thirtieth of March 2000, exactly
ninety years to the day after Westward and now sails the seas upholding the
tradition of classic yachting.
Eleonora regularly participates in regattas, in the
Caribbean this includes the
Antigua Classic Yacht
Regatta where she won several prizes in
2003, including being "Overall Winner of the Concours d'Elégance" and winning
the "Tropical Studios Trophy" for the most photogenic yacht... In 2006 she was
also present for the Antigua event and won the Boat International Concours d’Elegance
in the "Spirit of Tradition: Professionally Maintained" class as well as being
runner-up in the "Classic Class D" competition.
In the Mediterranean, she
participated in the Trophée Bailli de Suffren between St. Tropez on the French
Riviera and Valletta, Malta as well as the Régates Royales at Cannes on the Côte
d'Azur. She also has participated in the
Cap Royal Regatta
(2004),
Voiles de St. Tropez
(2004 & 2005)
Voiles d'Antibes
(2004) and the
Monaco Classic Week
(2005).
During the 2006 season we intend
to participate in several prestigious classic yacht regattas. Between regattas,
Eleonora is available for charter worldwide.
